To use mKC, you need to log in. mKC currently supports three types of login methods.
- mKC Login: This is an mKC internalized login method based on JWT authentication. You can log in using your username and password. Using mKC Login, you can Manage Users & User Groups through the Admin menu, and the RBAC is enabled, which allows you to manage user permissions based on roles.
- Keycloak Login: This login method uses an external system for authentication. Keycloak is an open-source ID & access management solution, and it supports SSO (Single-Sign-On) which allows you to access multiple systems with a single set of ID and password.
- LDAP Login: This login method also uses an external system for authentication. It utilizes LDAP to perform authentication, which helps store and retrieve data such as organizational information or member details over a network, based on directory.
Can I change the login method?
The login method can be set up during the initial configuration of the mKC system, and it is also possible to disable mKC login. After changing the login method, a system restart is required. For more details, please contact your system administrator.
For detailed instructions, please refer to the following login methods for each type.
mKC Login
Enter your User Name and Password on the Log in page. Then, press the [Continue] button to complete the login process.
Keycloak Login
On the Log in page, click [Continue with Keycloak] button.
You will then be redirected to the Keycloak authentication page. Enter in your Keycloak account information and complete the login process.
LDAP Login
On the Log in page, enter your CN and password. Then, click the [Log in] button to complete the login process.
What is CN?
CN stands for Common Name, and is used to identify an entity (user) within the LDAP directory. For example, a user's CN may be their full name or ID. Therefore, CN is the name or ID used to uniquely identify a user.
Main Page upon Successful Login
Upon successful login, you will be redirected to the main page.
When you first access the main page, you will see shortcut cards that bring you to the key feature pages of mKC. If you would like to change the initial page shown after login, you can select your preferred starting page from the top banner on the main page, or refer to the dashboard settings in the My Settings document.
Change Password
When a user attempts to log in for the first time or if their password has expired, they will be routed to the password change page even if they enter the correct information. After updating their login information and attempting to log in again with the updated credentials, they will be able to access the main page.
